2025 AMA CPT Coding Updates: Get Prepared for Faster Reimbursement

In order to be ready for the new year all medical practices have to review and implement the AMA CPT changes for dates of service beginning January 1, 2025. There are 420 overall updates in the CPT 2025 code set, including 270 new codes, 112 deletions, and 38 revisions. CPT codes are the primary way providers report their services to insurance companies in hopes that reimbursement for those services are received. Medical reimbursement can be delayed or not received when the code(s) used are not appropriate and don’t comply with the recent changes. It is important that offices have knowledge of the changes to update superbills, EMR, and Practice Management systems.
